On January 16, 2020 we held the general solemn meeting of Halyk Inkassacia LLP (Almaty) to award Nurzhan Uskimbayev, manager of the City Collection Department with the Letter of Appreciation and cash bonus for personal courage and dedication, model discharge of civil and human duty when rescuing people suffered as a result of Bek Air passenger plane crash on December 27, 2019 in the vicinity of Almaty.
30-year-old Nurzhan Uskimbayev had served in the Almaty Region frontline police for 5 years and, as an experienced and honest officer, in 2017 was employed to the position of cash-in-transit guard in Halyk Inkassacia LLP, Subsidiary of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan. Since 2019 Nurzhan has been working as a manager in the City Collection Department of the Company.
Nurzhan lives in Guldala Settlement that borders with Almaty Airport with his wife and three daughters. On the date of the accident, at 7:23 AM, Nurzhan was going to leave for work, when heard the sound of the falling aircraft. He was among the fist at the airplane crash site immediately assessed the situation and used his mobile phone to call 102, reported the circumstances to the police, and asked to send rescue teams and ambulances for victims.
Nurzhan didn’t wait for the arrival of rescue squad and rushed to the aid of the young woman with the newborn child and with the help of her husband carried them to his home as it was cold outside, then two more girls and a young man who needed help. Further Nurzhan and his 24-year-old brother Alisher took out victims from under the collapsed aircraft fragments and administered first aid thereto. At the same time he managed to answer mobile phone calls from police, rescuers, ambulance cars and, well understanding the lay of the land, speeded up their arrival to the scene. With the help of 10 police officers and rescuers Nurzhan and his brother carried six victims from his house to ambulance cars and quickly sent them to medical institutions.
When emergency services and city leaders arrived to the accident site, Nurzhan quietly left for work and did not say a word of his self-sacrificing act to the colleagues.
However all these facts became known during the incident investigation and the award reached its decent hero. All staff of Halyk Inkassacia LLP is proud of the colleague, and his self-sacrificing act is an example of civil liability, readiness to help people in any trouble and situation, which is a common value of Halyk Group.
